Jazz Saxophonist Wayne Shorter said “People forget that everything starts small”. Everything includes Recovery. Your recovery started with the the very smallest idea- I need to share, I need to talk. Once in recovery, you meet people with long-term sobriety. You might think they couldn’t possibly be telling the truth. How could some be sober years, or even decades? How could someone have been sober longer then you have been breathing?
Then you learn it’s all been one day at a time. Just the same work over and over- doing the next right thing” Recovery starts small. It’s just getting to a meeting. Likewise the decisin to start Music Therapy to enhance your recovery will start small, Maybe you don’t even think you are musical. That’s OK – it will start small. If you can breathe and talk you can sing. Or maybe you just want to try the drum. Just start from small, start from what you can do. You don’t need to be a musician to benefit from added “music therapy into your recovery. It will start small. It will grow over time- just like the seeds you are planting right now by getting into recovery. Let your recovery grow-come grow with us.
